Bookmaker Review

One of the oldest online sportsbooks in the world, over the years Bookmaker has built a stellar reputation. If you are looking for an all-encompassing sportsbook, look no further than this betting site. Established in the early 90s, it has grown with the Internet itself and there is no reason why it wouldn’t continue in the future. Excellent customer service, commitment to being the best, accepting very large bets, there is something for everyone here.

But let’s begin with what made Bookmaker the most popular and recommended sportsbook – the no-nonsense attitude throughout the entire company. There are no petty squabbles with the customer (quite frequent at some other betting websites), no penny pinching the bettor, no glamorous bonuses that turn out to be smoke and mirrors. Just an old-fashioned sportsbook that will take your action, no matter how big or how small. Want to place a $20,000 bet on a game? No problem, Bookmaker will cover it. Want to be $20 on a 15-game parlay? Weird, but it will be graded. This betting site is all about delivering on their promise, paying on time and offering excellent betting odds.

When we take a look at the funding options and betting limits, one would thing that this is a high roller sportsbook, and while it has no problems taking large bets, it’s just as accommodating to the more conservative bettor. You could deposit as little as $10 and as much as $500,000 (no, this is not a mistake), and the same goes with your bet limits – bet small, bet big, Bookmaker is happy to work with you either way.

[table style=”table-hover”]

Method Min Max
Visa $50 $2,500
Discover $50 $2,500
Bitcoin $10 $500,000
Other Cryptos $10 $500,000
Person-to-Person $100 $500

[/table]

The funding options at Bookmaker are nearly excellent. After all, you can’t really place large bets if you can deposit big. While the credit card options are geared more towards the casual customer, high limit bettors can take advantage of the gigantic amounts this sportsbook takes via Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies.

And while the depositing options are great, the payouts is where this book shines. There is no lolly-gagging when it comes to paying out your winnings – Bookmaker processes and pays very quickly! A lot of people become aggravated with the sports betting sites when they take days to just “process” your payout, not to mention the time it takes to actually receive it. Not here, you will get the fastest possible funding service, whether you are depositing or withdrawing.

Customers can feel secure knowing that this is the most liquid online sportsbook. It takes big bets, it pays big bets and has been doing so through many a Super Bowl upsets. Overall, nothing to worry here, the financials are rock solid.

[alert variation=”alert-info”]Betting Limits and Odds[/alert]

We have already touched a bit on the betting limits at Bookmaker, but to reiterate – they are some of the largest we have seen! Routinely customers place wagers in the 5-figure range and the sportsbook doesn’t bat an eye, all action is welcome. If you are an established customer with the betting site, you can even have your betting limits personally increased by management. Not only are the limits large, but it’s unheard of for a customer to have their bet sizes limited, due to a winning streak or because the bookie thinks you may be sharp. A lot of sportsbooks, even others on our recommended list are known for limiting the amount you can bet, if they suspect you are arbing (in the case of the legit sportsbooks) or for the simple fact that you may be winning (the calling card of the rogue sportsbooks). This is not the case with Bookmaker and we thank them for it. Not many places left where winners can continue placing normal sized bets.

As far as the betting odds, they are excellent. The vig is not paper thin, but when comparing the odds to other top sportsbooks, and even the Vegas sportsbooks, once can easily see that the odds at Bookmaker are often better. There is no reduced juice, but with the overall service you get from this online sportsbook, it’s well worth not going after the sharpest odds around. For major sporting events, the odds are pretty much the same throughout the entire industry, so no advantage or disadvantage either way.

[alert variation=”alert-info”]Bonuses, Promotions and Rewards[/alert]

If there is one faucet of this betting site that’s lacking, in our opinion it’s the bonus offers. However, unlike other review websites, we generally tend not to get overly excited about bonuses, since the hard cold truth is that with bonuses come the rollover requirements. Yes, it’s great when you can get a bunch of free money, but if the rollover is terrible, that bonus could be a poisons tree, leading to an overall loss of bankroll, rather than an increase.

The maximum welcome bonus offered by Bookmaker is currently at $500 and that’s if you deposit using any of the 45+ available cryptocurrencies. For any other method, it’s capped at 15% up to $600. As compared with some of the other top sportsbooks, the bonus is on the small side, but the rollover requirements are decent at just 5x deposit plus bonus amount (30x when taking the crypto bonus). So, on one side you have a “smallish” bonus amount, but the rollover is excellent, so it’s up to the customer to decide. Our opinion is that the welcome bonus should be viewed only as an icing on the cake, not a reason to join a betting website.

On the bright side, reload bonuses are a plenty and a based on a tier structure. There are three levels: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, with customers going up the tiers depending on the amount they have wagered. The more you wager the quicker you’d get to the Diamond, where the reload bonus is as high as 25%, up to $5,000 cash.

Another very nice feature of Bookmaker is their Rewards Program. As you make wagers with the sportsbook, you get to accumulate “Bet Points”, which in turn can be converted for either free bets or merchandise, directly from your account section.

[alert variation=”alert-info”]Customer Service[/alert]

Even though this online sportsbook has got its ducks in a row, there is always the chance that you may need to contact customer service. While no one wants to have to, it’s good to know that you would be dealing with knowledgeable and professional staff. This is exactly what you will get with the Bookmaker’s CS department. As we said already, these guys don’t play games and don’t try to use every opportunity to cheat you out of your money, as some less-reputable books do. You can chat with them online, call or even email, they are always there and helpful. Even if you have a bonus question or inquiry about a deposit, feel free to contact them and they will help. We find that using the internet chat customer support is both fast and easy.

[alert variation=”alert-info”]Other Features[/alert]

Besides the features of this top sportsbook we already reviewed, we like to use this section to talk about things that usually don’t affect betting, but are worth noting. For Bookmaker, we would like to bring to your attention their mobile website and their casino. Let’s start with the online casino – yes, this is primarily a spots betting site, but Bookmaker also offers a bunch of video slots and all the popular table games. Sadly, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is that the video slots are only a few (maybe a couple of dozen, if that) and they are a bit on the crappy side. The good news is that all casino games keep up with the Bookmaker’s mantra – high limit! You want to bet $1,000 on a hand of blackjack? How about $150+ per spin at the video slots? Yeah, Bookmaker is high roller heaven, so we really wished the would add more (and better) games to their casino. Alas, for now the selection remains rather limited, when compared to the other sportsbooks we have reviewed.

Since most of us tend to use mobile devices these days to get online, we must also include the mobile website of the sportsbook in our reviews. Overall, it’s a well-working website, although nothing to write home about, it just gets the job done. We actually personally prefer it this way, no fancy graphics and videos to clutter your already small screen real estate, etc. Plus, the mobile website loads much fast that way, much appreciated, especially if you are in an area with less than perfect cell reception.
