First opening its virtual doors in 2011, GTBets (short for Game Time Bets) is the youngest online sportsbook on our list; compared to the rest of the betting sites – it’s a baby. But while the facade is new, the backbones are solid. The organization and staff behind GTBets is part of the long-time favorite VIP Sports and Nine betting sites, which sadly closed the same year GTBets opened, in turn taking over some of the accounts of those two popular sportsbooks and paying balances owed to the players. While nothing has been confirmed on paper, the general understanding is that GTBets was created to take over those two books. Since then the reputation of GTBets has been stellar and now after nearly a decade in operation, there is enough solid track record for us to place this sportsbook on our recommended list.

There is a reason, however, that we have placed it at the end of our top 5 online sportsbooks list – it’s the epitome of recreational betting site. The funding amounts aren’t very big and neither are the betting limits, while the bonus offers are some of the biggest you will find among the legit sportsbooks. This sports betting website watches very closely for arb bettors, sharps and anyone that tries to pull the usual tricks and are quick to limit the bet size on such accounts. If, however, you are a regular player who just wants to place some bets and do it at a legit sportsbook, GTBets is an excellent alternative to the rest of the best sportsbooks. You will get plenty of bonuses to keep you busy, nice odds on all the popular sports and fast payouts. The focus of this sportsbook is on the average size bettor and on offering quality experience. There is really nothing bad we can say about this sportsbook and its longevity in the current betting market is a testament of its quality.

Method Min Max
Visa $35 $999
MasterCard $35 $999
Amex $35 $999
Bitcoin $35 $2,000+
Other Cryptos $35 $2,000+
Gift Card $35 $999

The deposit limits at GTBets are on the smallish side, as previously noted, this is a truly recreational sportsbook, and as such, you won’t find many high limit bettors. Even Bitcoin deposit limits are rather tiny, although players with history at he sportsbook can have their Bitcoin limits increased quite a bit. One excellent option is the ability to fund your betting account using a pre-paid gift card, something we are sure would be welcomed by many who are not yet on the cryptocurrency wagon. Payouts using Bitcoin are capped at $5,000 weekly, bank wire payments max out at $5K as well. Overall, while the depositing options are very nice, including the major credit cards, we feel that the payout options are quite limited. Either way, it’s best to work with Bitcoin if you choose to patronize this online sportsbook, or at least have a crypto wallet for the withdrawals.

[alert variation=”alert-info”]Betting Limits and Odds[/alert]

The betting odds at GTBets are in line with the major sportsbooks, making them a tad bit better than the Vegas books. You won’t find reduced juice or anything else special about the odds, but we wouldn’t expect it anyways from this type of betting site. You won’t get bad odds, but you won’t find anything special, either. The betting limits are surprisingly high for a sportsbook of this caliber. Regular bets on NFL and NBA have a max of $5,000, but established customers can request even higher betting limits. College football and college basketball top out at $3K and soccer maxes at $1,000.

[alert variation=”alert-info”]Bonuses, Promotions and Rewards[/alert]

Bonus offers are aplenty at GTBets and if you like getting those free bets, you will feel right at home here. For new customers there are two welcome bonuses totaling 150% on your first two deposits: 100% match on the first and 50% match on the second. As you would expect from such generous bonuses, the rollover is on the high side at 12x rollover points. Unlike most sportsbooks, GTBets uses rollover points which are calculated depending on your type of wager, with sports netting you 5 points per $10 wagered, which in turn makes the actual rollover 24x, except baseball, which gives you even lower rollover points, only 2 per $10 bet. The sportsbook also offers an automatic reload bonus for existing customers, which carries the same rollover requirements before cashout. The bonus requirements are, in our opinion, pretty high, but if you plan on betting throughout the entire season, they are manageable. Nevertheless, they are not required and you can deposit without taking any bonus offers. Again, keep in mind that the reload bonus for existing customers is automatic, so you have to disable it, if you don’t wish to be tied to the rollover that comes with it.
